Initial Capacity is a software consultancy focused on improving the way software is made and improving the lives of people who create it.
We are a group of engineers, designers, product and business leaders who have the impulse to create, innovate and reach the outer limits of what's possible. We've paved the way in our industry, creating successful products and platforms while fueling the other side that drives us — overcoming challenges and finding fulfillment in all that we do, whether it's behind a laptop or on the mountain.
You will spend your time
- Working with startups,
- writing and deploying software,
- and yes, learning from practitioners that have built applications and engineering teams for startups and enterprises.
What we are looking for
- You are curious and empathetic
- You are an expert in one or more programming languages (Kotlin, Go, Python, Ruby, Typescript, etc.)
- You are an expert in one or more frameworks (web and/or mobile)
- You've read Refactoring
- You've read Test Driven Development by Example
- You would like to practice XP
- You would enjoy supporting applications in production
- You would like to drive technical direction for software teams
- You have a degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
- You have 6+ years industry experience
- You're able to come into our Boulder, Colorado office 3+ days per week
- and naturally, your principles and practices match or complement ours
